Convent news: A Cultural and Educational Event

Last Sunday, June 21, a screening of the film *Where Are You, Adam?*—a project years in the making by Alexander Zaporozhnichenko and Protodeacon Alexander Pliski—was held at the Novo-Diveevo Convent in Nanuet.

Following the Divine Liturgy, everyone was invited to the large refectory for lunch, as is customary. The meal was delicious, featuring a wide variety of dishes, salads, assorted appetizers, several types of fish, vegetables, and fruit—and, of course, a dessert spread to accompany the tea and coffee.

After lunch, the hall was quickly transformed into a cinema: the tables were cleared away, rows of chairs were set up, and a large screen was put in place.

For months, people had heard about the film and how its creators were taking it to Orthodox parishes across various states. Finally, an exclusive screening took place at our convent. The film was brought by one of its creators, producer Protodeacon Alexander Pliski. He also participated in the Divine Liturgy, reading the Gospel and performing a beautiful solo liturgical chant at the service’s conclusion.

Before the screening began, the Protodeacon spoke about the history behind the documentary’s creation and later answered questions during an open discussion following the film.

Many words of gratitude and praise were offered to the Protodeacon for creating this remarkable work.
